Children’s exhibit to open early February

2ND FL. CHILDREN’S EXHIBIT (Formerly Frontier Town) PROGRESS IS BEING MADE!!

Tentative Exhibit Opening Early February–Subject to continuing construction.

“Country School Days” A new one room country school themed exhibit for children will be featured when the exhibit opens to the public. Included in the space will be a barnyard and house where the children will be encouraged to complete their chores and pack lunch for a day spent at the country school, where reading, writing, and arithmetic are the order of the day. A special area for toddlers and an abundance of role-playing activities for elementary-aged children will keep young ones and their families occupied with historical fun! Historical photos and facts about local one room country schools will be included. UPDATE, UPDATE: The large structures are installed! Our carpenter is currently working on trim, and numerous smaller details and furnishings in the room to prepare it for the next steps in paint and carpet. This exhibit development is made possible by the Dacotah Prairie Museum, with additional support from Montgomery’s Furniture of Aberdeen.
