Dacotah Prairie Museum Foundation, an independent nonprofit corporation that supports the Dacotah Prairie Museum, owns the collection and operates The Mercantile gift shop.
The museum is located at 21 S Main St, Aberdeen, SD 57401 on the SOUTH side of the railroad tracks in downtown Aberdeen. We are proud to be located in historic downtown Aberdeen. The Museum’s red brick façade was renovated to restore the beauty of the building, which was built in 1888-1889. See About Us for more details.
All parking around the building is free. We recommend parking in the lot just north of the building. Two-hour parking is also available on Main Street and the surrounding side streets.
The main entrance to the Museum is on the south side of the building. A ramp provides access to the main floor, and an elevator is available for access to the second floor. A wheelchair is available for use. Guests with any other questions or concerns are encouraged to contact the Museum by phone at 605-626-7117.
The Dacotah Prairie Museum is a non-smoking facility. No pets or outside food or beverages are allowed. No unattended minors.
