Exhibit
South Dakota Snow Queen Festival from the Collection

South Dakota Snow Queen portraits, festival artifacts from the collection, and more are on display in this annual exhibit to coincide with the South Dakota Snow Queen Festival held annually every January in Aberdeen. New matching metal identification plaques have been installed on all framed queen portraits and digital restorations of faded 1970s era portraits are displayed.
Ongoing conservation of the Snow Queen Collection at the museum is supported by the GASM – Guards and Snow Men Organization of the South Dakota Snow Queen Festival. An outreach exhibit to complement the exhibit at the museum was displayed at the Aberdeen Recreation Center Theater Lobby during the Junior and Senior Snow Queen Coronations on Jan 4th and Jan 11th.
